Martin Nielsen: With the website "BonsaiArtNature" I will visualize and comment bonsai design and it is my hope to inspire and contribute to the debate about bonsai as art form. A bonsai is alive and for that reason bonsai art contain, not only the three spherical dimensions, but unlike other art forms, also a fourth dimension: changes with the yearly seasons and change of appearance by means of the ongoing design processes, that is necessary because of its growth and its ageing. "A bonsai is neverfinished" My interest in bonsai art started back in the late eighties and quickly became a relief from my busy professional life. I have a background as a trained gardener and architect, and since 1990 I have been working as a landscape architect with planning of gardens, urban spaces, places, infrastructure and nature.
